Work on First of 3 Connerton schools set

LAND O'LAKES Construction on the first of three schools destined for Connerton begins next year. It's an elementary school, and it's supposed to be open in August 2009. The school, which does not have a name yet, is expected to accommodate about 500 students from northern Land O'Lakes, including the 4,800-acre Connerton development on U.S. 41 and State Road 52. The "new town" is supposed to be home to a middle school and another elementary school. Connerton's developers also broke ground recently on a fitness and swimming complex, an amphitheater and parks. A hospital, medical offices, a regional park and a government center are also planned there.
