Kuhl, jennings to talk shop on channel 19
County Administrator Gary Kuhl and Deputy Administrator Larry Jennings will discuss the proposed county budget, along with several other issues affecting Hernando residents, during the next Issues and Answers program, which will broadcast live at 6 p.m. Tuesday on Bright House cable Channel 19. Along with budget and financial issues, Kuhl and his guests will discuss the recent enforcement of rules and regulations at the Solid Waste Division's east and west transfer stations, and the fees now charged to dispose of some waste items at the Northwest Waste Management Facility. During the program, viewers may call 540-6777 to ask questions.

Grab a rake, help clean the cemetery
Volunteers are needed for the annual cleanup of the Spring Hill Cemetery off of Fort Dade Avenue. The cleanup will be at 8 a.m. Saturday. Anyone helping is asked to bring work tools, such as rakes, weed eaters and tree trimmers. Also needed are trash bags, brooms, bleach and artificial flowers. Billiards tourney to benefit youngster
The Florida State Championships Women's Billiards Tournament will continue from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Capone's Billiards Lounge, 10463 County Line Road. Thirty-two professional players from across the United States are participating. The event includes fundraising efforts for 2-year-old Brandon Amato of Spring Hill, who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. There will be autographed photos, T-shirts and pool sticks available, as well as raffles. Fans can also have photos taken with their favorite players.
All proceeds will benefit Brandon and his family. Call Capone's at 688-9965.
CPR course set for Sept. 20, costs $20
A course in CPR/automated external defibrillator training and retraining for professional health care providers will be offered at 6 p.m. Sept. 20 at the Spring Hill Enrichment Center, 11375 Cortez Blvd. (behind Oak Hill Hospital) The course is offered through the American Heart Association and will be given by instructor Bob Kanner. Upon completion of the class, students will receive a two-year certification card. The cost is $20. To register or for information, call 597-8875.

Park parking free until spring
Starting Monday, the Hernando County Parks Department will discontinue charging the $2 per vehicle parking fee at Rogers Park on Shoal Line Boulevard. The annual peak season fee will not be charged again until spring. For information, call 754-4154.
