Senior softball: Joe D'Andelet threw out the first pitch for the West Hernando Athletic Club for Seniors' softball league last Wednesday. The 81-year-old D'Andelet, a founding member of the league, will be a coach this season. On opening day, the American Legion defeated Suncoast Orthopedics 20-5, and C's Pub defeated Good Shepherd 20-8. The league plays Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Veteran's Memorial Park. Anyone interested in playing softball can contact Lloyd Rogers at 352 596-7412. Players must be 55 years old or older. Check it out: The Florida Krush football team plans to launch a squad in 2008 and will join the North American Football League, which is made up of 100-plus teams nationwide.
