Henderson hurt
Clearwater Central Catholic quarterback Brent Henderson is a "gametime decision" for Friday's home game against Orlando Lake Highland Prep due to a slightly separated left shoulder, which he injured in the second quarter of last week's game against Tampa Catholic, coach Mike Jalazo said.
Backup quarterback Bobby Lyons, who transferred from Tampa Catholic in the spring, rallied the Marauders from a 14-0 fourth-quarter deficit to win 15-14.
Jalazo said he expects Henderson to be ready for the Marauders' Sept.21 game against St. Cloud Harmony.
Dicey debut
Former Countryside quarterback Harrison Beck, above, struggled in his first start for N.C. State. Beck threw for 321 yards, the most by a Wolfpack quarterback since Phillip Rivers' senior season in 2003. But Beck also was intercepted five times and lost a fumble in a 37-17 loss to Boston College.
"We moved the ball up and down the field," Beck told the News &Observer. "I've just got to make better throws, better reads. ... I'm not going to dwell on this game too much. It hurts now, but tomorrow we start working toward the next game."
Wolfpack coach Tom O'Brien said Beck, a Nebraska transfer, would start this week against Wofford.
