Sept. 20: Silverthorn Country Club is hosting the Wacky Golf Event for the Hernando County Association of Realtors.
Knowledge of golf isn't necessary for this tournament, as the term "Wacky Golf" can mean someone tees off with his putter or even a croquet club.
There are many twists to this game, but there is limited space.
The cost is $65, and that covers golf and a cookout luncheon. There will be door prizes, an auction, and special prizes for closest to the pin and straightest drives.
There also is a chance to win a new car for a hole-in-one. Call Edward Hirst at 352 684-6607 for more information.
Sept. 29: Plantation Palms Golf Club is hosting the 2007 Razor Golf tournament to benefit the First Tee of Clearwater.
There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The $100-per-person entry fee covers golf fees, hole contests, prize table and post-round dinner.
Every player will receive a choice of a new "Mutation" hybrid or a Carnivore Fairway wood.
Registration is limited to the first 100 players.
Call (727) 849-8844 for more information.
Sept. 30: Magnolia Valley is hosting its second annual charity golf tournament for the Holiday VFW.
There will be an honor guard ceremony at 12:30 p.m. and a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The cost to participate is $46, and it includes prizes for closest to the pin, dinner afterward and other prizes.
Contact Magnolia Valley at (727) 847-2342 or Bob Farrell at (727) 481-3446 for more information.
