The news always reports the number of American troops in Iraq. What are the number of coalition forces overall?
- Chris Forsythe, Palm Harbor
There are about 10,000 coalition forces from 20 countries now in Iraq. The United Kingdom has 5,500, South Korea 1,200 and Poland 900. The United States has about 168,000, or 94 percent of the total number of troops. That number was at 250,000 for the invasion in 2003.
