How changes stack up for school zones
By Times Staff Writer
Published September 14, 2007
School zones will change for many Hernando County schools next fall, as the district adjusts to overcrowding and the addition of a new K-8 school on Northcliffe Boulevard in Spring Hill. High school boundaries will change, too, but not until the arrival of a new high school on U.S. 19 north of Hexam Road in the fall of 2010. On Tuesday, the School Board will meet at a 1 p.m. workshop to consider proposed changes. The meeting will be in the board's meeting room at 919 N Broad St., Brooksville. Public hearings are scheduled for October and November, with a final vote planned for December. Over the next few days, the Times is publishing the latest version of district maps showing the proposed changes.
