When looking at Alex Milan's scores, it's difficult to believe she is a high school freshman. In five matches this fall, she has broken 40 four times.
Her best effort came Thursday.
In leading Sickles (172) to a win over Plant (187) and Alonso (215), Milan shot a season-best round of 2-under 34 at Silver Dollar.
She birdied four holes.
"That's phenomenal for a freshman to come out there and do that," Sickles coach Mark Mann said. "She's got all the tools."
Milan made birdie at the par-4 third, par-4 fifth, par-5 seventh and par-4 ninth. Her only blemish was a double bogey.
Sickles (5-1) had another standout.
Not to be overlooked was the 1-under 35 senior Amanda Bair posted. She had three birdies. On any other day, that would have been the round everyone was talking about.
"I feel like this is the strongest one-two punch in the county," Mann said.

"In high school, all that matters is when you get to districts," Jesuit coach John Crumbley said. "We'll continue to try to find the six guys that will push each other so we can get five when it's time for the playoffs."
