School zones are changing
By The Times Staff
Published September 15, 2007
Many Hernando County families can expect new school attendance zones next fall, as the district adjusts to overcrowding and a new K-8 school in Spring Hill. While hundreds of elementary and middle school students will switch schools next August, the changes won't take effect until 2010 for high school students, when a new high school opens north of Weeki Wachee. The School Board meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday to consider the proposed changes. The workshop will be in the board room at 919 N Broad St., Brooksville. Public hearings are scheduled for October and November, with a final vote in December. The Times is publishing the latest version of district maps showing those proposed changes.
