Though it's still under construction, the $1-billon Burj Dubai tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, topped the CN Tower in Toronto on Thursday as the world's tallest free-standing structure, at 1,822 feet, developers said. The tower's final height is a secret, though reports place it at 2,640 feet. How tall is that? Check out these comparisons, which detail how many Sunshine State entities, stacked atop one another, would fit inside:

Tampa Bay area's tallest building: AmSouth Building in downtown Tampa: 579 feet, or 4.56 buildings

Florida's tallest building: Four Seasons Hotel Miami: 789 feet, or 3.5 hotels

Space shuttle Discovery orbiter (STS-120): 122 feet long, or, stacked nose to tail, 21.64 orbiters

Tampa Bay Devil Rays No. 1 pick in 2007, pitcher David Price: 6-foot-6, or 406 promising southpaws.

Tampa Bay Lightning's Martin St. Louis: 5-foot 9, or 459 former NHL MVPs
