Pasco runners finish near top
Want an 8 a.m. 5K cross country race on a Saturday morning? Then you're in luck, because the Gator Invitational at Crews Lake featured some good finishes from Pasco County runners.
Pasco's Leeann Eble finished second overall for the girls despite a rough Friday afternoon. Land O'Lakes' Felix Soto, who finished third overall for the boys, helped a strong Gators team to a fourth-place finish.
Then there's the sleeper pick: the Wiregrass Ranch girls team. Finishing third overall - just 11 points behind the consistent Buccaneers - the Bulls will be making a big splash in the county this season.

RB offers some incentive
Hernando RB George Fribley told his offensive line that if it helped him eclipse 100 yards rushing this week, he'd buy them all a double cheeseburger.
But since he came close to passing 200 Fribley finished with 195, the senior is willing to amend the deal.
"I'll have to add some fries now," he said.
