Intruder stabs pet pigs
Four petting zoo animals are stabbed or stolen in a night attack.

SUN CITY - Big Pig's owners found him lying in his pen, covered with blood and ants Sunday morning. Stab marks surrounded his throat.
Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies dusted for fingerprints around his pen at the Sun City Stables, 4430 U.S. 41 S. But they're still looking for suspects, spokesman J.D. Callaway said.
Someone stabbed the 400-pound pig about 20 times between Saturday night and Sunday morning, owner Cornelia Winn said. Another pig at the petting zoo also was stabbed. And two pigs are missing.
"This was a vicious attack," said Winn, 18, who's kept Big Pig as a pet since he was born at the farm six or seven years ago.
Normally the docile animal cuddles with his owners, she said. He eats horse feed, leftovers and occasionally expired yogurt. He drinks out of Coke bottles.
On Sunday evening, he could barely move. He had eaten only a cracker and a potato chip.
A veterinarian will examine his wounds today, but Winn said she was worried.
"Even with how tough pigs are, he's acting really bad," Winn said. "He won't drink or eat. If he won't do that, then there's no hope he's going to survive."

People like this are disgusting examples of what the human race has become. I hope they get the max sentence for this and don't get free to do the same again any time soon to an animal or what, in their feeble minds, would be the next step.

This is horrible. I hope these "kids" get jail time over this. It is a fact that serial killers kill animals first. I hope PETA and the ASPCA is all over this one. I wished I lived closer.

I cannot believe that someone would so viciously attack these animals. These individuals need to be punished to the full extent of the law and no leniency. I hope these animals get beter.

The scary thing about this story, aside from the pain visited upon these poor defenseless animals is, it is only a short sociopathic leap before these "boys" victimize a child or helpless senior. They need to be found & punished not sent to church.

This disturbs me!!! What is wrong with people these days? Also, when I saw the pictures of the pig on TV I wondered why nothing was being done to his wounds, especially the large one on his right shouder area? Can't they be sewn or something?

Larry, I don't go to church, watch R rated movies and never would harm an animal. There has to be another answer. This crime is disgusting and I really hope we find the culprit. Who would do such a thing?

What has society come to to stab a pig 20 times? It is very sick as I see it. People seem to be so angry at the world. We have tried everything else, how about trying church, not watch R rated movies and try caring about each other? Can't hurt.

Isn't this the same area where someone was killing geese and ducks? Is there a reward offered for information on the vicious heartless monster who did this?

When they find whoever did this, send him to me. I'll save the State the expense of a trial and incarceration.
Only one solution for sickos that would do something like this.
