Bucs' moment of victory is permanently set
A group of statues at One Buc Place commemorate the Super Bowl XXXVII

A new sculpture inside One Buc Place commemorates the Bucs' victory in Super Bowl XXXVII. Darcie Glazer Kassewitz, the daughter of Bucs owner Malcolm, oversaw the interior decoration of the training facility and came up with the idea for the display, titled "Moment of Victory."

TAMPA - Warren Sapp is back with the Bucs. So are John Lynch and Simeon Rice. Shelton Quarles is in uniform again. By the looks of things, it's as if Brad Johnson never left. They are all in the glass atrium of the Bucs' $30-million training facility, along with teammates Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber and Mike Alstott. In a tribute to the Super Bowl XXXVII heroes, the Bucs have placed life-sized statues of eight players from their championship team frozen in time behind a headset-wearing, fist-pumping coach Jon Gruden. "Oh, man, it's nice," Brooks said. "I actually called Warren when they did it and said, 'I think we're finally cemented at One Buc Place.' I don't know where the idea came from for them to do it, but I think it's a perfect tribute. Hopefully it lasts." The statues are part of a not-yet-completed exhibit of the Bucs' 48-21 win over the Oakland Raiders and capture the sideline celebration as the game ended. No detail was spared. Alstott's helmet is pushed back on his forehead. Quarles and Rice are leaping into the air. Brooks' helmet is off, and he's holding his trademark towel. Lynch is pumping his fist. Sapp's belt is loosened. We have only one question. Where is defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin?

Monte is probably the biggest reason we are Super Bowl champions that year. Remember, we had the No. 1 defense in the NFL that season plus the dominating defensive performance in the big game. If he's not there, where's the justice?

There'll always be someone left out when you get too literal in art... How about MVP Dexter Jackson of game-sealer Dwight Smith??

I agree that Kiffin should be in there, but he should have his own statue, because he's the one consistently excellent thing about this team.
Also, how can you tell if that's a statue of Brad Johnson? It might just be Brad, hanging out. Kidding!

I think Monte and Brian Kelly should have been in there. I don't think they did that on purpose. But I hope they fix it.

That may just be what they mean by "not-yet-completed." Just a hunch.

That is far and away the most hideous statue I've ever seen. They look like anime ogres not anyone that ever played on that team. I don't know what the artist got for this but it should have been life. Ugly as the offensive line.

This is a way to invigorate the new players. They will see how they can be immortalized if they work together to bust their @$$ and win another Superbowl. Plus, it shows how the Glazers are working to motivate their team. Good Job!

It would be a crime if Kiffin was not representd in these sculptures. He is the REAL reason the Bucs won the super bowl and have been playoff contenders for so many years. It would be a slap in the face if the Bucs don't recognize his contribution.

This shows the class of the Bucs organization. I sure hope they didn't put Meeshawn on there. Saw him as a commentator on ESPN last night, holding up a sign begging for work. He's PATHETIC,a self-centered egotist. He should move into the White House.

Good point about Kiffin. He's as much a buc as any player or coach here has ever been. My guess is he'll get his own statue when he retires to celebrate not only the SB but a decade plus of excellence.
