Nature Center offers spider safari for kids

Join the Dunedin Nature Center this month and in October for a special children's group adventure on spiders and bats.

Activities will include a spider safari in the woods of Hammock Park to identify spiders, illuminate web patterns, examine a real mummified bat under a microscope and make flying bats. For more information, call 727 298-3271 or e-mail tpowell@dunedinfl.net

CLEARWATER

Boaters may talk to Coast Guard officers

Have some boating questions or want your boat given a safety check? Staff members of the Coast Guard Station on Sand Key and members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Clearwater, will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2655 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. to answer questions and perform free boat safety checks.

A 25-foot Coast Guard boat will be on display. The event is part of Costco's Safety Day. For more information, call (727) 469-8895.
