Nature Center offers spider safari for kids

DUNEDIN Join the Dunedin Nature Center this month and in October for a special children's group adventure on spiders and bats. Activities will include a spider safari in the woods of Hammock Park to identify spiders, illuminate web patterns, examine a real mummified bat under a microscope and make flying bats. Staff members of the Coast Guard Station on Sand Key and members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Clearwater, will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2655 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. to answer questions and perform free boat safety checks. A 25-foot Coast Guard boat will be on display. The event is part of Costco's Safety Day. For more information, call (727) 469-8895.
