Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Christine L. Barrett, daughter of Rhonda A. and Mark S. Barrett of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center, Cape May, N.J.

Marine Corps Pvt. Mason A. Carpenter, son of Cathy J. Carpenter and Anthony Zack of Pinellas Park, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Navy Seaman Brian C. Howe, son of Arthur Howe of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Navy's Nuclear Power School at the Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y. He is a 2005 graduate of Largo High School.

Navy Seaman Joseph F. Tesmer, son of Maria and John G. Tesmer of Tierra Verde, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2004 graduate of Plant High School, Tampa

Navy Seaman Alain D. Nguyen, son of Hung D. Nguyen of Seminole, has completed the Basic Engineering Aide Course at the Center for Seabees and Facilities Engineering Detachment, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He is a 2000 graduate of Osceola High School.

Marine Corps Sgt. Stephen A. Seaberry, son of Lori Pritchard of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program Preparatory School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson Senior High School, Tampa, and joined the Marine Corps in 1999.

These cadets have graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash., and have been commissioned as second lieutenants. Both cadets earned associate's degrees from St. Petersburg College in 2004:

- Brian J. Spurgeon, son of Joseph E. and Denise Spurgeon of St. Petersburg and a 2002 graduate of St. Petersburg High School.

- Curtis S. Warden, son of Clare Kelley of St. Petersburg.
