AARP Chapter 434: Meets at 1 p.m. Wednesday. County Commissioner Michael Cox will speak. Topic: Taxes and insurance. The meeting will be held at Asbury Methodist Church Social Center, 4204 Thys Road, New Port Richey. Refreshments will be available.

Senior center activities: Elfers CARES Senior Center, 4136 Barker Drive, 727 847-1290, offers the following:

-Ballroom dancing and instruction. 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Donation: $2.

-Bridge playing and instruction. 11:30 a.m. every Thursday. Donation: $2.

Study group meeting Hadassah: Noon Sept. 27. The first meeting topic will be "And You Think Your Family has Problems." Discussion to follow on the dynamics of family relationships. Bring a lunch. Meeting donation: $5. Reserve by calling Barbara (727) 869-4359.

The West Pasco Historical Society, 6431 Circle Blvd. in New Port Richey, is joining in Founder's Day from Sept. 28 through 30. They will have an open house and quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone invited. All programs are free.
