BROOKSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Orientations are Friday and Tuesday
Volunteer orientations are 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday and Tuesday in the Family Center at Brooksville Elementary. Volunteers are required to complete an orientation before being assigned to a classroom.
SPRING HILL ELEMENTARY
School will hold its first resource night
Spring Hill Elementary will hold its first Hernando County Resource Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 27 in the cafeteria. Call Kelly Balch at 398-1565 or Elizabeth Zielesch at 666-6884 by Monday.

Title I meeting, dinner is today
D.S. Parrott Middle School will hold a Title I meeting at 5:30 p.m. today in the cafeteria and is offering a spaghetti dinner for $1 per family.
COUNTYWIDE
Parent Institute is set for Oct. 23
The district invites parents to the sixth annual Parent Institute from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at West Hernando Middle School, 14325 Ken Austin Parkway, Brooksville. Workshops may include: How to Help Your Child With Reading, Brain Training, FCAT, Discipline, Learning Styles, Math, Mental Health, Nutrition, Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Beyond Autism 101, Transition, and a presentation by the state Department of Education.
Parents are asked to register before Oct. 16 by calling 797-7070 or visiting www.hcsb.k12.fl.us. The YMCA will provide free child care for the first 150 children ages 3-12.
Early dismissal day
Students will be dismissed at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
YMCA HOLIDAY CHOIR
Choir to practice at three schools
Beginning Monday through Dec. 14, the YMCA New Generation Holiday Choir will practice at Chocachatti, Westside and Spring Hill elementary schools. Call Therese Romulus at 686-9622.
