Game of the week

East Bay (Indians) at Brandon (Eagles) When: 7:30 tonight. Where: E.L. McLane Stadium, 1101 Victoria Ave., Brandon. What for: Frankly, there's not much else exciting in eastern Hillsborough this week. Bloomingdale at Plant City? Newsome at Armwood? But we'll try to make this one interesting. The Eagles, 3-8 last year, shocked East Bay in their regular-season finale to knock the 6-4 Indians out of the playoffs. So it's about revenge for East Bay. Brandon lost last week to Armwood, 34-3, but the score doesn't tell the story. The Eagles held arguably the best team in the state scoreless in the first half. East Bay (1-2) lost to Wharton 20-17 at home. The Indians missed a chance to tie the game when Wharton blocked a 37-yard field goal with three minutes remaining. What fare: Can't go wrong with Babe's Pizza (107 N Kings Ave.). The double-decker pie is legendary. What to wear: Try cargo pants and a poncho. It's getting cooler, and it looks like rain. Weatherunderground.com predicts a kickoff high of 78 and a low of 71, with a 50 percent chance of a shower. Last year: Brandon won 42-28, ending East Bay's playoff chances. Mascot matchup: We're thinking Eagles. Two words: beaks and talons. Game of the Week extra: Congrats to Bloomingdale for snapping its eight-game losing streak with last week's 23-21 win over King. The team swarmed the band for the alma mater, which we'll reprint here, just because: (Sung to the tune of Carmen Ohio) Oh Bloomingdale we say to thee Our hearts and minds will always be In your halls which stand for pride Where we learn to always strive Bloomingdale, oh Bloomingdale Our Alma Mater we will hail; Staunch, Strong we'll stand and fight To defend our red and white
