TGH executive wins statewide award

Tampa General Hospital's executive vice president Deana Nelson was awarded the Nurse Administrator Award for 2007 by the Florida Nurses Association.

The award is presented to one nurse administrator in Florida for outstanding leadership in nursing administration. Nelson has been with TGH for more than 20 years and started as a staff nurse in 1983. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Tampa College of Nursing.

Neighborhood group will meet Tuesday

Curves fitness center will conduct study

Curves fitness center for women, 3819 Henderson Blvd., invites volunteers to participate in a 21-day fitness study for nonexercisers.

The study will help determine the effects people can experience by completing a 30-minute circuit for a period of time. Participants must not currently exercise, agree to complete the 21-day program, complete two fitness profiles and pay a refundable $20 deposit. To register, call Mary Martin at (813) 282-1999.
