TRILBY - The Greater Trilby Community Association hosts its third annual Fall Festival and Children's Safety Rally from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Trilby House Community Center, 37452 Trilby Road.
The free event will feature live music, face painting and exhibits from local organizations.
Two children will have the chance to win new bikes. Copper, a Pasco sheriff's dog, also will be at the event.
Parents can have their child's picture, fingerprints and DNA registered with law enforcement agencies for free.
Children who already have their DNA and fingerprints on file can get a new picture taken.
The Greater Trilby Community Association was formed five years ago to help the area's poor residents and revitalize the community.
"To be honest with you, I didn't do it for any other reason than I wanted to help my neighbors," said the nonprofit's founder, Denny Mihalinec, 34.
The group has helped to bring affordable housing to the community's handicapped residents.
It also runs a center where those in need of food stamps and other assistance can access the Department of Children and Families via the organization's computers.
