Breast cancer benefit features dice game bunco

SPRING HILL

A "Bunco For Breast Cancer" fundraiser will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Contours Express, 7275 Forest Oaks Blvd. There is a $15 donation at the door. Refreshments and prizes will be provided. The event is part of the National Partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and all proceeds benefit the foundation. Anyone interested can participate in the Bunco event; Contours membership is not required. Bunco is a social dice game involving 100 percent luck and no skill (there are no decisions to be made), scoring and a simple set of rules. Call Denise Tumelty at 666-4077.

Country club hosts life-success event

Reservations are required by Monday for those wishing to attend "Achieving Happiness, Balance and Success in Your Life," which will be at noon Friday at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane. The seminar is sponsored by the Hernando County Medical Society Alliance. The speaker is licensed clinical social worker Nancy Makar of Pathways Counseling Center. Celebrate Spanish heritage Saturday

The Hispanic Scholarship Civic and Cultural Foundation will host the fourth Spanish Heritage Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. The event will include continuous entertainment, clowns, a demonstration with the Hernando County sheriff's K-9 Unit, a balloon table game, a martial arts demonstration, a silent auction, arts and crafts vendors, face painting, the Festival Queen beauty pageant, a Spanish food court and more.
