Back in action Largo coach Rick Rodriguez said quarterback/defensive back Leonard Johnson will play against Dunedin on Friday. Johnson sat out last week because of a sprained ankle.

Wesley Chapel/Zephyrhills will be Catch 47's Game of the Week for the second time in as many seasons. Although coaches love the exposure and it's a thrill for the kids and the community, Zephyrhills coach Tom Fisher said the added stress of the telecast can also be distracting to a program that usually doesn't have its games broadcast live. This week's game is at 7:30 p.m. at Wesley Chapel's Wildcat Stadium.
Pinellas Park picks up first win
In a battle of winless teams, the Patriots knocked off Seminole 25-13 on Friday.
Pinellas Park 1-3 won thanks to a running game that racked up 311 yards, 280 coming from Reggie Green and Chris McKinnie.
Jessie Redden also was effective through the air, with 102 yards and two scores to Carlton Green.
Down at the 1
Pinellas Park's Reggie Green had a monster game against Seminole, rushing for 188 yards on six carries. Most of his total came on two carries, a 93 yard run and a 96-yard run.
The only problem was that he didn't score. He was tackled at the 1-yard line on both of his long runs.
"Reggie ended up being our set-up guy," coach Matt Lance said. "It was tough, because I know he wanted to score on both of those runs."
Coaching debuts
St. Petersburg Catholic's Tod Creneti and Canterbury's Steve Dudley were the only coaches among the four making their debut this season without a win.
That changed last week.
The Barons beat Lennard, and the Crusaders defeated Jacksonville Mandarin Christian.
Northeast's Jay Austin and Gibbs' Yusuf Shakir, the other first-year coaches, each won their first game in Week 1.
Getting involved
Countryside's Maurice Threatts had the bulk of the carries in Thursday's loss to Dunedin. Threatts, a junior, ran for 136 yards on 18 carries.
That meant the Cougars' other top back, Dawrence Roberts, had a reduced role. Roberts had just 17 yards on three carries.
"We just needed to get Maurice involved more in the offense," Countryside coach John Davis said.
Threatts was benched for the preseason game and the seasons opener for missing summer workouts and most of August's practices.
Did you know?
One play accounted for 43 percent of Northside's offense in Friday's game against Fort Meade, an 80-yard TD pass from Drew Phillips to Josh Hornbeck with 2:18 left in the game.
By the numbers
12 points Northside scored against Fort Meade. It was the first time in 23 game the Miners have allowed more than seven points against a district opponent.
