Points winners: Dave Shute was the overall points winner twice in one week at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Zephyrhills. Shute was the overall points winner on Sept. 12 with plus-6 and then again on Sept. 15 with plus-4. The Tuesday Ladies winners from that same week were Jan Szczesny with low gross, Donna Grubach with low net, and Joan Fjelstad with low putts.
Summer tourney:Bill Back and Joe Wheeler won a round of the summer league on Sept. 17 at Silverado Golf and Country Club. The duo combined for a 29.75 in the handicapped scramble system.

Oct. 6: The Monique Burr Foundation for the Children and the Spring of Tampa Bay tournament will be at Southern Hills Golf Club. Nonmembers are invited to play at the course designed by Pete Dye. In 2006, the event raised more than $55,000. Entry fee is $125 perperson, which includes practice balls, round of golf and boxed lunch. Prizes will be available during the day, including a golf cart from Angelo's Carts for a hole-in-one. A silent auction will be after the tournament. Pasco
Sunday:Magnolia Valley is hosting its second annual charity golf tournament for the Holiday VFW. Registration will start at noon, and there will be an honor guard ceremony at 12:30 p.m. and a shotgun start at 1.
The cost to participate is $46 and it includes prizes for closest to the pin, dinner and other prizes. A 2007 Cadillac will be given to the first person who makes a hole-in-one at the par-3 13th hole.
Proceeds from the tournament go to the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes for Iraq/Afghanistan wounded military personnel. In 2006, the tournament raised $5,600 for the charities.

Oct. 7: The Ridgewood High School athletic department is sponsoring a golf tournament at the Links of Hudson. Spots are still available. Anyone interested in playing or providing support can contact Gary Anders at (727) 774-3933.
Oct. 13-14: The Zephyrhills Open, a flighted low gross 36 hole event, will be at Silverado Golf and Country Club. Handicaps determine your flight and there will be flight winners and overall champions.
There will be a minimum $2,000 purse. Cost is $100 per player and the entry fee includes a meal after each round.

Nov. 24: The David Reutimann Charity Event benefiting All Children's Hospital will be at Silverado.
The third annual charity event is a four-person scramble shotgun, starting at 11 a.m. A dinner with an auction will take place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 23 at Silverado Golf and Country Club.

Tampa Bay Area
Oct. 28: The second annual Coach Mike June Memorial Golf Tournament will be at the Chi-Chi Rodriguez Golf Club in Clearwater. The scramble tournament will start at 1 p.m.
Cost is $400 per foursome with all proceeds going to the June Family.

Nov. 3: Trinity Elementary School PTO is hosting its annual Benefit Golf Tournament at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club.
This event helps to finance mini-grants for teachers as well as other activities at the school throughout the year. Cost is $120.
