Ridgewood boys golf displays its strength

How good is the Ridgewood boys golf team?
Land O'Lakes found out Thursday.
In a competitive match at Plantation Palms, four Rams shot 38 or better and Ridgewood won 149-155.
"They have a great team," Gators coach Tom Clark said. "They've got fantastic depth."
Ridgewood (8-1) was led by Randy Watkins, who shot even-par 36. Jeff Koos was next with 37.
Josh Barnett of Land O'Lakes was the medalist with 35. Wes Parrish added 36.
Land O'Lakes is 8-2.
"The first two men for both teams put on one of the best shows I've seen in awhile," Clark said. "It was a joy to see."
- Wiregrass Ranch 180, Seven Rivers Christian 207
At Pebble Creek, Wiregrass won its second straight and improved to 6-4. Freshman Dylan Larson led the Bulls with 6-over 41. Junior Aaron Henry added a season-best 45.
- Mitchell 154, Wesley Chapel 160
At Lexington Oaks, sophomore Chaz Heinz shot 1-over 37 to lead Mitchell to victory. His round, a season best, included one birdie.
Junior Kenny Cavender added 38. Freshmen Sterling Bash (39) and Isaac Schaefer (40) played well.
Wesley Chapel was led by Mike Wozniak
Mitchell is 9-1. Wesley Chapel is 3-6.
"Chaz played a very solid round," Mitchell coach Rick Hyatt said.
GIRLS GOLF
- River Ridge 212, Pasco 258
At River Ridge Country Club, junior Samantha Stahl shot 49 as the Knights improved to 7-1. Senior Brittany Hahn added a round of 51.
The score was River Ridge's best at home this season.
- Wesley Chapel 189, Mitchell 197
At Heritage Springs, senior T.J. Adipietro shot 2-over 37 to lead the Wildcats, who improved to 7-0.
Mitchell is 8-1.
Adipietro made birdie at the par-4 eighth and recorded five pars.
Samantha Friese of Wesley Chapel produced a round of 45.
Mitchell was led by Megan Van Etten, who fired a 41.
"With the rivalry between these teams, this was a huge win for our program," Wesley Chapel coach Scott Boyd said.
VOLLEYBALL
- Zephyrhills d. Gulf 17-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-20
At Zephyrhills, the Bulldogs got strong play from senior middle blocker Jessica McCall (14 kills, eight blocks, two aces) and sophomore setter Lindsay Arnold (10 assists and six kills). Zephyrhills improved to 11-1.
Gulf is 6-6.
