Robberies linked, Tarpon police say
Drugs were taken from CVS and Walgreen's pharmacies.

TARPON SPRINGS - Police say an armed man who robbed a Tarpon Springs CVS of drugs a week ago Friday is thought to be the same robber who struck a Palm Harbor Walgreen's a few days before. According to police, a man with a gun in his waistband demanded oxycodone from the pharmacist. He received it and left the store. The robbery occurred at the CVS at 1000 E Tarpon Ave. about 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 21. On Monday, Tarpon Springs police Sgt. Barbara Templeton said detectives think this is the same robber who hit a Walgreen's pharmacy at 35553 U.S. 19 N in Palm Harbor on Sept. 17. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is looking into that case. The robber is described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. In the Tarpon Springs robbery, he wore a black shirt, light pants, an urban camo hat with "hustle" embroidered on it. In the Palm Harbor robbery, he wore a bright yellow shirt, baggy jeans and white athletic shoes.
