Boca Ciega 26, St. Petersburg 0

ST. PETERSBURG - A balanced attack on both sides of the ball led Boca Ciega to a 26-0 victory over St. Petersburg High.
The Pirates defense gave St. Petersburg little room to move, holding the Green Devils to 166 total yards and pressuring them into making key mistakes. In the third quarter, Boca Ciega's Julius Forte sacked Green Devil quarterback Robert Lemon, causing a fumble that Pirates linebacker Mundrae Francis jumped on for a touchdown.
Offensively, Pirates quarterback Orhian Johnson started the game hot and cold, completing a 29-yard pass before being intercepted at the goal line by Green Devil linebacker Amare Hart.
Johnson hit his groove halfway through the second quarter when he threw a perfect 30-yard touchdown pass to Ja-Vonta Trotter, who had broken from defenders. In the fourth quarter, Johnson would add another touchdown pass, over the heads of defenders and into the hands of Sherrod Clinton. Johnson finished the night completing 5 of 12 passes for 102 yards.
Johnson credits his receivers for much of the offensive momentum.
"I get the ball anywhere within their reach and those guys will make a play on it," Johnson said. "They make my job a whole lot easier."
