Shorecrest 56, Mount Dora 8: Harrison Settle scored three times on a pair of runs 30, 15 and a 25-yard interception return as the Chargers rolled. Toms Bernhards scored twice, one on a 6-yard run and the other coming on a 64-yard strike from quarterback Hunter Tremaine. Phil Tylman also punched in a touchdown from 6 yards out and Tremaine added a 12-yard scoring run. The Chargers defense pitched a shutout until the final 50 seconds when Mount Dora finally got on the board.
"We played a lot of our younger guys in the second half," coach Phil Hayford. "You know a lot of teams will bring their first teams back in when a team threatens to score. We wanted our young guys to get the experience, not keep the shutout."
Northside Christian 35, Orlando First Academy 12: The Mustangs (4-1) bounced back with a resounding win. Three quarterbacks - David Edwards, Tyler Stowall and Drew Phillips - each threw touchdown passes for Northside. Benjamin Kaylor was on the receiving of two of those scores.
Calvary Christian 70, Leesburg First Academy 0: The Warriors set a school record for points in their Homecoming victory. Buddy Adzima threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns and A.J. Williams ran for one score and caught another for Calvary.
Hollywood Christian 37, Indian Rocks Christian 14: Ethan Englebert and Jonny Sitton each scored on runs to put the Golden Eagles ahead 14-0. But the lead vanished as IRC watched Hollywood Christian score 24 in the second quarter.
