TAMPA - Quarterback Geno Quintana and running back David Bankston had a hand in Alonso's first five touchdowns and the Ravens' defense forced six turnovers in a dominating victory over Freedom.
Quintana passed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, including a 69-yarder to Bankston, and rushed for a score. He completed six of 12 passes. Bankston had three TDs, the first two on runs of 24 and 9 yards, and rushed for 79 yards on 10 carries.
Alonso (4-1) got an outstanding performance from its defense, which held Freedom (0-4) to 112 total yards and six first downs.
The Patriots appeared to score on the game's first play from scrimmage as quarterback Josh Grady ran 57 yards for a TD. But the play was nullified by a holding penalty and Skip Pryce's 55-yard interception return later in the drive set up Bankston's first score for the only points the Ravens would need.
Fumble recoveries by defensive linemen Tedd Eumo and Demonte McAllister also set up Alonso touchdowns and linebacker Mike Frascello added the final score with a 20-yard interception return of a Chris Bonti pass. McAllister had two fumble recoveries and Chris Frierson contributed an interception for the Ravens.
Alonso's offense totaled 411 yards. Wide receiver Jessie Anaya amassed 93 receiving yards on three catches, one for a 72-yard touchdown. The Ravens' ground attack produced 234 yards on 37 attempts.
Freedom punter Cass Couey averaged 47.6 yards on six kicks, including 57- and 54-yarders.
