Clearwater jazz holiday seeks volunteers

The 28th annual MarineMax Clearwater Jazz Holiday seeks hundreds of volunteers to help with the four-day, free music event scheduled for Oct. 18-21 at Coachman Park.

Among other things, volunteers can sell merchandise, pour beer and wine, distribute soft drinks and water, and check IDs. Those with carpentry, electrical, plumbing or handyman skills can help build and tear down infrastructure.

Story swap meets to trade yarns

The Tampa Bay Storytellers Guild Story Swap meets the fourth Sunday of every month (except November and December) to share stories.

Members of the public are invited to attend and share stories.

Each program has a theme.

The programs are at 3 p.m. the fourth Sunday of each month at Pinellas Park Station, 5851 Park Blvd.

Homecoming dress giveaway Saturday

Susan Schwartz, the unofficial fairy godmother for the Belle of the Ball Project, is providing free homecoming dresses - new and barely worn - to high school girls in need. The giveaway will be Saturday and Oct. 13 at Seminole Mall, 11201 Park Blvd. N, next to Bealls department store. Hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit
