Caregivers support group: The Aging Assistance sponsored Caregivers Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the administrative offices of Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Road in New Port Richey. Katherine DeNote, R.N., director of Aging Assistance Inc. will discuss "Stress Management for Caregivers." Call 727 847-1857.
Mental illness program: The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Pasco County is holding its Annual Mental Illness Awareness program from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of the Pasco Hernando Community College, West Campus on Ridge Road in New Port Richey. The main topic is "Depression and Bi-Polar Disorder." Invited speakers include Katie Kutchins, Dr. Joseph Saturley, Sen. Michael Fasano and Clifford Blum. Call (727) 992-9653.
MS benefit: A benefit to raise money to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post 335, 11412 Osceola Drive, New Port Richey. The benefit will help raise funds for two bike riders who will ride from Busch Gardens in Tampa to Orlando to help raise money for a cure for MS. There will be food, drinks, games, raffles and a band at the fund raiser. Call (727) 868-3445.
Fibromyalgia support: The West Pasco Fibromyalgia support group will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Conference Center, HCA Bayonet Point Hospital, 14000 Fivay Road, Hudson. The speaker is Dr. Kimberly Halsey and the topic is "Acupuncture and How It Helps Fibromyalgia." Call (727) 863-4738.
Hearing services: Regency Park Civic Association, 10240 Regency Park Blvd., Port Richey will host the St. John's Hearing Institute and Deaf and Hearing Services from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday. They will do ear wax checks and removal, hearing screenings, hearing aid checks and provide a package of hearing aid batteries. Lecture: "Compassion and Love: The Art of Caregiving" is the name of the lecture by Dr. Stanley M. Giannet Ph.D. scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Atria Evergreens Woods, 7030 Evergreens Woods Trail, Spring Hill. This seminar will provide meaningful reflection on the challenges and opportunities inherent in caregiving. Reserve a place by Monday by calling (352) 596-2055.
Blood drive: Shapes Total Fitness for Women will host a blood drive from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Computer classes: A representative of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service will teach two computer classes at 6 and at 7:30 p.m. beginning Thursday and continuing through Nov. 8. The first class will cover computer skills for those who do not use sign language and the second class will cover basic computer skill for those who do use sign language.
