Carlos Pena should win the AL Comeback Player of the Year award for his remarkable season. He got a smaller honor Monday, named American League Player of the Week for hitting four of his 46 homers, and posting a .438 average, in the final six games. Pena is the third Ray to be honored this season, joining B.J. Upton and Carl Crawford. COACHING NEWS TODAY: The Rays are expected to announce today which coaches are being offered new contracts, or at least among Bill Evers (bench), Tom Foley (third), Steve Henderson (hitting), George Hendrick (first) and Bobby Ramos (bullpen). A decision on pitching coach Jim Hickey, arrested on DUI charges, is not expected. KAZMIR SECOND: LHP Scott Kazmir will have to settle for the AL strikeout title (or the 162-game major-league title). San Diego's Jake Peavy surpassed Kazmir's 239 in Monday's playoff against Colorado.

I don't understand why Kaz should lose the strikeout crown to a guy that pitched in one more game than anyone else?
