Miami soldier, 37, killed in Iraq

MIAMI - A 37-year-old soldier was killed in Iraq, the Defense Department said Monday. Staff Sgt. Donnie D. Dixon of Miami died Saturday in Baloor of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small-arms fire, the department said. He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
