Legion Auxiliary craft show set for Oct. 14

ST. PETERSBURG The American Legion Auxiliary will hold its first craft show Oct. 14 from noon to 5 p.m. at 1520 Fourth St. N. GULFPORT Senior center will celebrate anniversary The Gulfport Senior Center will celebrate its 24th anniversary Oct. 10. The birthday bash will be at the Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd., and will feature a full-service luncheon, entertainment, door prizes and a short presentation on over-the-counter medication, all for $2. COUNTYWIDE SPCA seeks trainers for its Family Dog program The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Tampa Bay seeks 30 dedicated volunteer dog trainers for its Family Dog Training Program. These people will have the opportunity to learn training methods implemented by some of the top trainers in the country at no cost. An intense, six-week, hands-on training will be followed by a commitment of volunteer hours. Trained volunteers will increase adoption rates by building a foundation for good behavior for homeless pets and assisting in behavior classes for the public. PETERSBURG Annual Pet Walk Oct. 20 at North Shore Park Tampa Bay area animal lovers can join more than 2,500 pet owners Oct. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Shore Park, 901 North Shore Drive NE, for the SPCA Tampa Bay's 17th annual Pet Walk. The event is the nonprofit organization's largest fundraiser and aims to raise $225,000 for food, shelter, and medical care for the more than 15,000 animals that pass through its doors each year.
