Loucks gets an assist ... on the football field
Clearwater coach Tom Bostic can thank quarterback and star basketball player Luke Loucks for solidifying the kicking game. After struggling to kick extra points the first three games, Loucks convinced Julian Beau, a soccer player who had never played football for the Tornadoes, to come out for the team.
"Julian got out here a little late, but he's getting situated," Bostic said. "He certainly has a lot of potential."
Beau didn't waste time making his mark, hitting three field goals (38, 42, 27) in the Tornadoes' 15-7 win against Gibbs on Friday.
Parks commits
St. Petersburg Catholic's Tracy Parksorally committed to play basketball for South Alabama. Parks, a senior, averaged 19.6 points per game last season and is one of the top 3-point shooting guards in the county.
Henderson, Freedman back in lineup for CCC
Clearwater Central Catholic quarterback Brent Henderson and receiver Paul Freedman, who have been out with shoulder injuries, will be back for Friday's Class 2B, District 6 game against Berkeley Prep.
Their return could not have come at a better time. The Marauders have struggled on offense during their absence, scoring a combined 10 points in losses to St. Cloud Harmony and Fort Meade the past two weeks.
"This is the healthiest we've been as a team all season," CCC coach Mike Jalazo said.
Did you know?
Dixie Hollins quarterback Josh Brown's 263 yards (137 rushing) were more than the entire Palm Harbor University offense (233 yards) in last week's game.
By the numbers
131 Combined points Largo has scoredin its first four football games

Thanks to a horribly officiated game, against both teams but predominatly in favor of Dixie the QB had every chance possible in a game that a gutsy PHU team should have won. Leave the laundry at home refs when you don't have a clue??

Northeast has more point scored in the first four games than anyone in the bay area with 150 and the next closest is Armwood with 146 in 4 and 172 in 5. Remember Northeast has only played 4.
