Wednesday's Taste of autumn benefits cares

The second annual "Taste of Autumn" will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Consulate Health Care of New Port Richey, 8417 Old County Road 54, New Port Richey. Donation: $10. Proceeds to go to the CARES Elfers Center. Food tasting with donations from various area restaurants. For tickets, call Consulate Health Care at 727 376-1585.

Volunteers sought for tax season
Income tax season is months away, but the call is out for volunteers to help retirees and wage earners of all ages with their tax returns. The program is sponsored by AARP and United Way of Pasco County. Formal training will be offered in early January using last year's software and everyone must pass a test for IRS certification. Woman's Club meets Thursday
The GFWC Lutz/Land O'Lakes Woman's Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lutz Community Center, 101 First Ave. N, to work on crafts and play bridge. Art Club speakerto talk human form
The Zephyrhills Art Club meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Alice Hall Community Center at Zephyr Park on State Road 54 in Zephyrhills. Dorothy Anders, who owns Artful Gardens, is the guest speaker and she will demonstrate drawing and painting the human figure. She will do a short demo sketch using a volunteer from the audience. Members are encouraged to display their original art of "Still Life with Veggies" in the mini-art show. Ribbons will be awarded in accomplished and amateur categories. Refreshments will be served and winners announced. Winners for the September show are for the accomplished division: first: Sandra Lallemand; second: David Worton; third: Susanne Desneux; and honorable mention: Mary Sears.
