Sunday morning quarterback
You know what it's never a good idea to do when it's pouring rain outside? Throw the football. Clearwater and Boca Ciega found that out Friday, as the Pirates didn't complete a pass during the final 21 minutes and the Tornadoes tossed five picks, three of which were returned for touchdowns. You know what is a good idea in the rain? Running the ball. Largo, Northeast and Dunedin pounded the rock and walked away with wins. Here are a few highlights from the Friday that was:

Defensive Player of the WeekBryan Morris , Dunedin
Morris, a linebacker, had three of Dunedin's five interceptions against Clearwater on Friday. Morris, waiting in the flat, picked two balls off in almost the same spot on the field and took both to the house.

Brynn Harvey , Largo
Harvey topped the 300-yard mark for the first time this year, rumbling for 342 yards to bring his season total to 1,166. Harvey scored five times, including TD runs of 43, 60 and 67 yards.

Danny Speake , Northside Christian
Speake helped the Mustangs pull away form Admiral Farragut, scoring the final four touchdowns on three runs and a kickoff return.
Anthony Cochran , Clearwater Central Catholic
Cochran ran for 110 yards and scored twice, including the deciding touchdown in overtime against Tampa Catholic.
Jared DiMaggio , Keswick Christian
Behind three DiMaggio rushing scores, Keswick pounded Calvary Christian 48-14 to remain undefeated.
Mike Kumbat , Dunedin
Kumbat stepped in front of a Luke Loucks pass and rumbled 75 yards for a touchdown.
John Toston , Dunedin
Toston caught a 15-yard touchdown, picked off a pass and recovered a fumble as the Falcons rolled.
Maurice Threatts , Countryside
Threatts rushed for three scores in a 38-14 win over Palm Harbor University.
Jermeil Douse , Dixie Hollins
Douse caught a 15-yard touchdown from Josh Brown and scored twice on the ground.

Sitton got the last laugh as he scored four times and the Golden Eagles won 48-36.
