Body language, online social networking, public relations: All will be covered when the International Association of Business Communicators meets for its regional conference. The conference, open to anyone in the communications field, is Oct. 18 to 20 at the Renaissance Tampa Hotel. Among the speakers: a Tampa International Airport rep will talk about integrating messages for a diverse population; a University of Florida rep who was once chief marketing officer of Segway LLC will talk about building UF's brand; and Dawna Stone, the Apprentice: Martha Stewart champ, will offer the perky-sounding workshop on "The Power of Positive Communication." Course helps you maximize R&D
SRI International Inc. of Menlo Park, Calif., is offering local companies a crash course in innovation Wednesday in St. Petersburg. The Tampa Bay Technology Forum is hosting a daylong workshop featuring SRI executives teaching the institute's disciplined approach to maximizing its return on research and development.
