Mini Zooper Doll Strollers Company: Lan Enterprises Why? A child's fingertip can be severed if it becomes caught in the rectangular metal clip or the black plastic side hinge. Also, the strollers pose an entrapment hazard. What models? The Mini Zooper Doll Stroller has a silver metal frame with a bright pink cotton canvas seat cover. "Pottery Barn Kids" is printed on a label on the canvas seat cover. Where sold? Pottery Barn Kids stores, catalog and Web site. What to do? Why? All of the play yards have raised changing tables with a restraint strap that forms a loop beneath the changing table, posing a strangulation hazard to a child. One play yard has a raised cradle that rocks back and forth. A child can roll and get trapped against the side of the cradle in the Contours 3-in-1 Play Yard. If that happens, a child can suffocate. Contact the firm for instructions on receiving a nonlooped replacement strap for the changing table and a repair kit to secure the base of the cradle. Consumers should cut off and remove the existing changing table restraint strap. Consumers should always remove the raised changing table and cradle or bassinet before placing a child in a play yard. The model rocket's side or engine retainer ring can separate and cause the rocket to fall without the nose cone separating and the parachute deploying, posing a risk of an impact injury to nearby consumers. What models? X-15 flying model rocket, a 1:44 scale version of the North American Aviation hypersonic rocket plane. The model rockets are about 13.5 inches long and have a wingspan of about 5 inches. The rockets are black and yellow, and have the number 66670 on the tail and were sold individually (item #1890) and as part of a starter kit (item #1412). The item number is printed on the product's instruction sheet and above the bar code on the product's packaging. Where sold? Hobby stores and other retailers. What to do? Plush Boy rattles Company: Target Why? The rattles can break open, releasing the small beads inside, posing a choking hazard to young children. What models? Three styles: a white baseball with red stitching, a brown football with white stitching and an orange basketball with black stitching. The tag sewn into the rattle contains: "Reg. No. PA5706(CN), Distributed by Double Nice Co Ltd. 3f-2 No. 325, Wu Chuan Road, Taichung, Taiwan, Made in China." Where sold? Target. What to do? Return to Target for a refund. Why?: Surface paint on the handle of the rake can contain excessive levels of lead paint, violating the federal lead paint standard. What models?: The rake has a green handle with a yellow duck head attached to the handle and seven purple tines, also known as teeth. The rake is about 24 inches long and "Robbie Ducky Garden Collection Rake" is printed on a tag attached to the handle. Where sold?: Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores nationwide. What to do?: Take the toy rake away from children and return it to any Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store for a full refund. Why?: The toaster can turn on without bread in the slots and ignite items placed on top of it, posing a fire hazard. What models?: "Cook’s Essential" four-slice wide slot electric toasters model CET 401. These toasters are made of stainless steel and measure 12 inches long, 13 inches wide and 8 inches high. Each toaster has "Cook’s Essentials Classic Look Toaster, Model: CET401" printed on a plate located on the underside of the toaster. Where sold?: QVC through its television station, its Web page, its toll-free number, outlet, and its employee and Studio stores. What to do?: Stop using the toaster, unplug it and cut off the power cord where it enters the body of the toaster. Consumers who return the power cord in the prepaid envelope that will be provided will receive a full refund. Gas valves used in decorative fireplaces and stoves Company: Honeywell International Inc. Why?: The activation knob on the valve can be left in a position between OFF and PILOT, which can cause the pilot gas to leak and accumulate prior to burner ignition. This can pose the risk of thermal burns to consumers when they light the pilot of the fireplace or stove. What models?: This recall involves gas valves used in liquid-propane-fueled decorative fireplaces and Franklin-type stoves. These stoves and fireplaces have direct pressure relief vents via a spring-loaded door. Fireplaces and stoves with a side or rear vent are not included in this recall. The recalled valves were installed in fireplaces and stoves listed at http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08003.html. Where sold?: Honeywell sold the gas valves exclusively to original equipment manufacturers for use in fireplaces and stoves from April 2004 through August 2007. Those manufacturers sold fireplaces and stoves at retailers nationwide. What to do?: Stop using the product and contact Honeywell for information on how to receive a free inspection and replacement valve. Timberland PRO Direct Attach steel toe boots Company: Timberland Co. Why?: The boots could fail to provide the intended protection against compression and impact, posing the risk of a foot injury to consumers. What models?: Timberland PRO Direct Attach Steel Toe Boots with model numbers 26002 (wheat nubuck leather), 65016 (wheat nubuck leather), 26038 (black full-grain leather), and 38021 (brown oiled full-grain leather). The model number is printed on a green loop tag on the inside of the boot, just below the size. The boots have a four digit date code ending in 35 and beginning with the numbers 25 through 45 (e.g. 2535, 2635…4535) which can also be found on the loop tag below the model number. Direct Attach Steel Toe boots made in China are not subject to this recall. Where sold?: Shoe stores and other independent retailers nationwide. What to do?: Stop wearing the recalled boots and contact the Timberland Co. to receive a free replacement pair of boots.
