If you're looking for some Halloween fun, there are plenty of events this year to delight princesses and goblins alike.
Friday
Halloween Spooktacular: 6 to 8 p.m. at the Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway, Land O'Lakes. Phone (813) 929-1220. Games, moonwalks and other fun activities for children under 12 (must be accompanied by an adult). Free.
Saturday
Scarecrow Fest: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Dade City. Fall family festival featuring scarecrow-making and pumpkin-painting, plus food, music and games. Sponsored by Downtown Dade City Main Street. Call (352) 567-0284 for cost and other information.
Holiday Fall Spooktacular: 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Recreation Complex, 2830 Gulf Trace Blvd., Holiday. Phone (727) 942-7439. An evening of music, games, refreshments and a costume contest for children 12 and younger (must be accompanied by an adult). Free.
OCT. 18, 19 and 20
Haunted House & Spooktacular: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O'Lakes Blvd., Land O'Lakes. (813) 929-1229. An event for the entire family, featuring games, prizes, refreshments and "spooky street" (for the little ones) and the big Haunted House (recommended for children 8 and older). Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Pirate Pumpkin Patch: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James Irvin Civic Center, 38122 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dade City. (352) 521-4166. A program for developmentally disabled people, featuring games, arts and crafts, guest speakers and a lunch. Free.

Fall Festival: 5 to 8 p.m. at Odessa Park, 1627 Chesapeake Drive, Odessa. (813) 926-1141. An event for the entire family; come in a costume if you like. Games, crafts, moonwalks, popcorn and more. Free.
Halloween Party in the Park: 7 to 9 p.m. at Shady Hills Community Center, 15840 Greenglen Lane, Shady Hills. (727) 856-7831. Games, refreshments, music with a DJ and a few spooky surprises. All ages welcome; children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: Free.
OCT. 26-27
Scream Acres: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park, 10500 Wilderness Park Road, New Port Richey. (727) 834-3262 or (727) 834-3247. Eight cabins are converted into haunted houses, plus spooky trails with surprises behind every tree. For kids younger than 16 (must be accompanied by an adult). Free.
