Time off helps Hernando
Leopards cross country coach Ernie Chatman decided to skip last weekend's Flrunners.com Invitational 8 in Titusville. His runners had competed in enough races and it was time for more training and a little rest entering the final quarter of the season.
"I just thought it was good for us to get two weeks of training," Chatman said.
This weekend, Hernando will converge on the Hernando-Citrus Cross Country Classic. Chatman calls it a race everyone likes because of the fast course and the anticipated break in earlier morning temperatures.
"This is a race that gives you a chance to build confidence," Chatman said. "And that's good."
