The top dramatic photos, close-ups and abstracts of buildings around the Tampa Bay area are on view through Dec. 14 at Gallery AIA. The display showcases winning entries in an annual contest run by the local society of architects.

More than 150 amateur photos were entered by architects, students and others. The best photos will appear in a 2008 calendar to be sold later.

Also on display are more than a dozen ideas from an international competition to design a new building to house the Safety Harbor Regional History Museum.

The gallery and the office of the local chapter of the American Institute of Architects are at 200 N Franklin St., Tampa. Hours:9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Go to www.aiatampabay.com or call (813) 229-3411.
