On the air
Tune in: Coverage of the Nextel Cup race at Lowe's Motor Speedway starts at 7 p.m. today on Ch.28 and 1010-AM. The green flag drops at 7:30.
Full circle: If you plan to watch the only night race of the Chase with a diehard Dale Earnhardt Jr. fan, you might want to grab a box of tissues. Serious Junior fans might get a little teary-eyed watching No.8 today at Lowe's Motor Speedway because this, within 20 miles of his native Kannapolis, is where it all started. Junior started his career in NASCAR's top level at the Concord track. He first raced there in May 1999 and finished 16th.
Since that start, Junior has 17 wins, 76 top-fives and 121-top 10s. He hasn't won at Lowe's Motor Speedway, but has recorded four top-fives and eight top-10s.
