Cambridge 47, Bishop McLaughlin 0

TAMPA - One minute, it looked like Bishop McLaughlin could beat Cambridge for the second straight year. The next minute, all hopes were quickly dashed. In the first quarter of a scoreless tie, Hurricanes quarterback Jeff Pope hit Ryan Beeble for a 95-yard touchdown, but it was called back for an illegal block in the back, and it was all downhill from there on Saturday. The Lancers scored five first-half touchdowns and the rout was on. Cambridge running back Taylor Cabral ran for a career-high five touchdowns and 150 yards in his last home game. Cabral added 95 punt return yards and also kicked three extra points. "If Cabral can get through that first wave of action, defensive backs have no chance and he'll mow them down," Cambridge coach Rick Shears said. Justin Dargahi, Times correspondent
