Stab victim clubs attacker

TAMPA - One man was stabbed and another injured with a shovel after a late-night argument at the Silver Palm Apartments in the University of South Florida area.

Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at 2301 Benbow Court at 10:15 p.m., a Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman said. A man in his 20s was outside his apartment drinking with friends when another man in his 20s drove up, began arguing with him, then stabbed him in the chest, spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. The stabbing victim picked up a shovel and hit his attacker over the head, she said. Both were taken to Tampa General Hospital. Information about the extent of their injuries was not immediately available.
