Buddhist center will host meditation event

The Parbawatiya Buddhist Center Tampa Bay will present a Buddhist meditation evening from 8 to 9:15 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Living Room Yoga, 1608 29th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, with Angus Berry. The class, the Heart of Compassion, will present an introduction to meditation from the Kadampa Buddhist tradition. There will be two guided meditations and a short talk. Vendor Fair benefits church Sunday school

Church by the Sea, 137th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard, Madeira Beach, will hold a Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be demonstrations, raffle prizes and gift ideas. Boxed lunches will be available for $5. The first 50 people receive gifts. Benefits Church of the Sea's Sunday school.

ST. PETERSBURG

Unitarian universalist church will host city council forum

The Unitarian Universalist Church of St. Petersburg, 719 Arlington Ave. N, St. Petersburg, will host a City Council Candidate Forum/Debate from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 28. A reception will follow.

All City Council candidates have accepted the invitation to participate in the forum. Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance through the church Web site, www.uustpete.org.
