Baseball

Clearwater Hitting Academy

The academy is forming AAU teams for ages 8-11 and 13. Sign-ups are Saturday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the academy (24323 U.S. 19 North). Call 723-2255 for information.

USA Patriots

The AAU team is looking for players for its 8-under team. Those interested should call Mike Galinski at 556-3200.

Bowling

There will be a Classic Bowling Tournament held on three consecutive weekends on Nov. 3-4, 10-11 and 17-18 for teams and individuals. The team events will be at Ten Pin Lanes in St. Petersburg and the singles events will be at Liberty Lanes in Largo. Entry forms may be picked up at either of the lanes or call the Greater St. Petersburg USBC Women's Bowling headquarters at 391-7627.

John Larry Franks, Jr. aced the eighth hole at Belleair Country Club, West Course. He hit a five iron 189 yards.
