Fifty years ago, they were screwed-up kids sent to the Florida School for Boys to be straightened out. But now they are screwed-up men, scarred by the whippings they endured. Read the story and see a video and portrait gallery.

A police report on the Aug. 26 wreck involving Nick Bollea, 17, the son of Hulk Hogan, says the roads were wet at the time of the accident and that Bollea "disregarded other traffic control." Translation: He was speeding, police say.

Results of a drug and alcohol test are pending, according to the Clearwater police report. It's not known when they will be ready. The crash critically injured Bollea's friend and passenger, John Graziano, 22, who remains comatose at Bayfront Medical Center.

It also caused $500 in property damage to city shrubs and $50,000 in damage to the totaled Supra, which is owned by Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan.

It's a shame that John's life has been permanently changed, thanks to an irresponsible and immature friend. driving is a privilege, not a right. My thoughts and prayers go out to john's family.

What do you expect from Clearwater? The downtown is dead, all the night life is gone. If you aren't a scientologist shop owner your days are numbered if you managed to even stay in business. The thugs on the fringe of downtown have overrun the area.

How can you do $50,000 in damages on a supra

The "Hogan" family is already helping and they have stepped up to the plate. Parents cannot be held totally responsible for a kids actions. Hey-that's what car insurance is for. It is a shame that his friend is in such awful shape after serving..

It most of took a rocket scientist and brain surgeon to figure out that he was speeding!!

Until we have all the facts maybe you'll should not play judge and jury. Not to mention Nick's friend is an adult and also like Nick made a bad decision by not wearing his seatbelt. It's a bad situation all the way around!

Obviously, Hogan doesn't know best!

If he wasn't the son of a famous person he would already have been charged and serving time. Same ol same ol. If you have money and are a celebrity you get off plane and simple. So on fair. Put the guy in jail and make him pay for his actions.

Also nice to know, although not mentioned here, that he slid across both lanes of traffic for a bit. Thank God no one else was hurt. If this boy is not charged, how will he learn?

Gee, you think?!

enough is enough if this was not a kid of a famous father charges would already be filed.

When you allow a 17 yr old boy a car like that, what do you expect? The parents are equally to blame and that family is responsible for looking after John as long as necessary.Maybe now they will see what part they played in this tragedy.

Why are the results of a drug and alcohol test still pending, after all this time has gone by? ... No drug or alcohol test takes this long, they're full of crap! ... I smell a cover up, and it stinks to high heaven!!
by Hoshi 10/17/07 10:20 AM
As if this article shed any light on the story, we already know that he was speeding-duh... how about charges? it doesn't take 2 months for drug results, when you drug test for a job, they know immediately, give it up for being famous, so many perks

Nick's punishment needs to be that he take care of his FRIEND for the rest of his life. I dont mean just money. He needs to take care of the boy he injured,He needs to be responsible for this Marine for the rest of the Marine's life. No more driving

Police Report very limited. Very restrictive. Might say lost of words.
