Basically Guavaween is an excuse to be stupid and raunchy while stumbling around in disguise. Brilliant! No wonder the annual freakfest will draw nearly 100,000 people to the blocked-off streets of Ybor City on Oct. 27.

But remember, there are essentially two Guavaweens:

Family FunFest: Dress up the little kiddos in awwww-some costumes for trick-or-treating, story time, activities, pumpkin giveaway and the costume parade and contest. Runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $5 at www.cc-events.org/gw/ .

Night of Costumed Revelry: This is for adults who aren't afraid to party. Hard. There's live music on multiple stages, a costume contest with cash prizes and the main event of debauchery, the Mama Guava Stumble Parade. Emphasis on "stumble." The parade starts at Seventh Avenue and 20th Street at 8 p.m. The R-rated fun starts anytime after the kiddies leave and runs until 3 a.m. $15 online at www.cc-events.org/gw/ .

Live bands

We couldn't make up better names:

More TV-32 Stage: Genitorturers, Deadstar Assembly, Area 51, Gonzo Boccio

98 Rock Stage: Hellyeah, Nonpoint, Skindred, Karnivool

95.7 The Beat Stage: Naughty By Nature, Chubb Rock, UTFO

Get there

You can take a shuttle for $10 round trip; $25 includes admission and round-trip service.
