Leo and Joan Savoie Leo and Joan Savoie of Villa Entrada, New Port Richey, were married Oct. 5, 1957, in Pawtucket, R.I., and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a stay at the Harrah's Hotel in Las Vegas. To kick off the celebration, they were treated to a small but cozy dinner party hosted by Kimberly and Michael Austin on Sept. 29 at one of their favorite local restaurants, Sam Seltzer's of Port Richey. Family members from Rhode Island and New York sent well wishes and their children chipped in to send the happy couple off with some spending money for their trip to Vegas. The Savoies have three children, Kimberly Austin of Palm Harbor, Karen Titus of Pawtucket and Steven Savoie of North Scituate, R.I.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandson.e_SFrBRobert and Kathryn Schwendeman Robert and Kathryn Schwendeman celebrated their 67th anniversary on Sept. 28. The Holiday couple were married in 1940 at St. George's Catholic Church in Allentown, Pa., and they moved to Florida in 1977. They attend St. Vincent De Paul Church. They have five children, 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Milestones is a periodic feature recognizing Pasco residents who have reached one of life's major landmarks, such as a 50th wedding anniversary, a 100th birthday or retirement after working for the same company for several decades.
