Dinner-dance to mark fifth anniversary

SPRING HILL
St. Frances Cabrini Knights of Columbus Council 13209 will celebrate its fifth anniversary with a dinner-dance Oct. 26 in Xavier Hall, 5030 Mariner Blvd.
Cocktails will be at 6 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. After dinner, Triple Play will provide music until 10:30 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Ercolano's Italian Restaurant; the menu will include baked ziti, eggplant parmigiana, chicken scarpariello, roast loin of pork marsala, green beans in garlic butter sauce, rolls and garlic butter, house salad, New York cheese cake for dessert, coffee and tea.

Shrine Club Auxiliary to host yard sale
The Hernando County Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary will have its annual yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Shrine Club, 13400 Montour St., off Sunshine Grove Road.
Vendor tables are available for $10 each, available to anyone who has crafts or anything else to sell. Those interested can call Donna at 666-4980 or Margie at 688-7289.
Donations of items for the sale are also appreciated. To arrange a pickup, call Jack at 666-4980 or Fred at 597-1703.
Funds raised from this sale will to toward the upkeep and improvements to the clubhouse.

Class to put focus on things that bite, sting
Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service will have a free class, "Ouch! What Was That?", at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Forest Oaks Government Center, 7479 Forest Oaks Blvd.
The speaker will be Natural Resources agent Joan Bradshaw. Participants will learn to identify stinging and biting creatures that may be encountered in one's yard.
No registration is required, but seating will be limited. For information, call 754-4433.

Woman's Club plans bazaar, sale Nov. 3
The Women's Social Club of Cloverleaf Farms will host a bazaar and sale from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 3 at the Heather House, 900 N Broad St.
The sale will include fine crafts, homemade baked goods and a raffle. Hot dogs, coffee and doughnuts will be available. For information, call 754-9939 or 799-6723.

Arc schedules sale, food and wine event
The Arc Nature Coast will conduct the following:
- The Arc's Aktion Club will have a sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter, 7305 Broad St. The group will be selling a hot dog and coke for $1.50.
- Cooking Demonstration and Wine Tasting Endowment Challenge Campaign Kick-Off, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 10, Carrabba's Italian Grill, 12957 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill. The menu will include ruschetta checca, pollo rosa maria, garlic mashed potatoes, zucchini stefano, four wines and dessert. The demonstration will include the history of each wine and each dish, as well as their origin. The cost is $75. Seating is limited. For reservations, call 544-2322, ext. 109.

Rowden fundraiseran 'All American Party'
A fundraiser for County Commissioner Diane Rowden will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Hernando Beach Club, 3145 Flamingo Blvd.
The theme will be "All American Party," featuring a menu of American foods. Tickets are $25.

Grace Church Crafters plans bazaar Nov. 10
The Grace Church Crafters will host their annual bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 10 in the fellowship hall at Grace Presbyterian Church, 8375 Spring Hill Drive.
The event will include "attic treasures," jewelry, hand-crafted Christmas ornaments, live plants and silk floral arrangements, knitted items and baked goods. A light breakfast or lunch can be purchased.
All proceeds will support the mission ministry of the Presybterian Women of Grace Church.

Kennel club to put on AKC-sanctioned event
The Pasco Florida Kennel Club will host an AKC-sanctioned Breed-Obedience Match, Junior Showmanship and Halloween Contest on Oct. 28 at Florida Classic Park, 5360 Lockhart Road, off Cortez Boulevard, east of Brooksville.
Entries must be in by 8 a.m. The Halloween contest will be at 10 a.m., the junior show at 11 a.m., followed by the confirmation and obedience.
Spectator admission is free. There is a $3 per vehicle parking fee.
